For almost 12 years families in the parish have undertaken to deny themselves something, not necessarily food, each week and to donate its cost to CAFOD. Older parishioners will recall that abstinence from meat every Friday was once obligatory and many welcomed this opportunity provided by CAFOD to restore the practice of self-denial and so help those less fortunate than themselves.

Donations are made via the Offertory collection at weekend Masses. Envelopes and a copy of the Bulletin are issued every two months. Donations may be anonymous, but if the donor is a taxpayer, completion of the Gift Aid form attached to the envelope will increase the value of each £1 by 28p.
